MacNair's Lum Reek 21 Year Old is a peated blended malt created by Billy Walker of The GlenAllachie Distillers Co. It combines peated Islay and Speyside single malts with aged GlenAllachie, matured for 21 years in Oloroso sherry, red wine and virgin oak casks. It is bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
The name comes from the Scots toast 'lang may yer lum reek', meaning long may your chimney smoke, a nod to the peat in the blend.
The nose offers subtle peat smoke, dark chocolate and fudge. On the palate there are tobacco, leather, cedar, cocoa, vanilla, honey and spice over gentle peat, leading to a long, warming, sweet-smoke finish.
