MacSchwarzenegger Edition No.1 Austrian Oak Cask Finish Single Malt Whisky (75cl, 47%)

A Speyside single malt of ten years old, finished for four months in new Austrian oak casks made for Arnold by the Mittelberger cooperage. Alexander Murray & Co selected the whisky and bottled it at 47% ABV. The Austrian oak adds marzipan, cedar and candied nuts to the Scottish malt. On the palate it is round and supple, with creaminess first, then exotic wood notes folded into the malt over a base of sweet vanilla from the original casks. The finish is firm and assertive, with oak tannins coated in a sweetness like confectioners' sugar.
