Maculan Torcolato Passito Breganze DOC 37.5cl (37.5cl, 14%)

Torcolato is a sweet passito wine from Maculan in Breganze, in the Veneto, here in a 37.5cl half bottle. It is made from Vespaiola grapes, which are left to dry on racks until the start of the year before gentle pressing. The must is rich in sugar and aroma. Slow fermentation and ageing in small oak barrels add complexity. The colour is a deep, luminous amber. The nose brings candied fruit, acacia honey, dried apricot and sweet spice such as vanilla, with a light toastiness. Sweetness and acidity are in balance on the palate, and the long finish returns to the sweet, spiced notes.
