Maculan Torcolato Passito Breganze DOC (37.5cl)

Torcolato is a sweet passito wine from Maculan, made in the Breganze region of Veneto and offered here in a 37.5cl bottle. It is made from Vespaiola grapes, which are left to dry on racks until early in the year before being gently pressed. Slow fermentation and ageing in small oak barrels follow. The wine is a bright, intense amber. It smells of candied fruit, acacia honey and dried apricot, with sweet vanilla spice and a light toasted note. The palate balances sweetness with acidity, so the rich fruit stays fresh, and the long finish returns to the sweet, spiced notes.
