Maen 8 Year Old Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

A blended pure malt Japanese whisky, aged for eight years in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Maen takes its name from the Japanese word for 'the perfect circle', the Zen symbol of perfection, in which a drawn circle is final and unchanging. The whisky is matured in bourbon barrels alone, with no finishing wood. The nose has vanilla, cedar and winter spices, opening to peach and apple cobbler. The palate is generous and unctuous, with earthy, charred oak running through the sweetness of the bourbon casks.
