Maker's Mark – 101 Proof Bourbon (75cl, 50.5%)

Maker's Mark 101 Proof is a wheated Kentucky bourbon from Loretto, bottled at 50.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is the higher-strength sibling of the standard Maker's Mark, which is bottled at 45%. The mash is 70% corn, 16% red winter wheat and 14% malted barley, with no rye. The water is limestone-filtered and comes from the distillery's own spring-fed lake. Each bottle is sealed with the house's hand-dipped red wax. The nose is caramel and vanilla over sweet oak and fruit. The palate brings brown sugar, baking spice and toasted wheat, and the finish is long and warming, carried by spice and oak.
