Maker's Mark is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from the Maker's Mark Distillery at Star Hill Farm in Loretto, bottled at 45% in a 750ml bottle.
The mashbill is 70% corn, 16% soft red winter wheat and 14% malted barley, with wheat taking the place of rye. The spirit is distilled twice, first in a copper column still and then in a copper pot still, and aged for approximately six to seven years in new charred American white oak. Barrels are moved by hand within the rickhouses during ageing.
The nose is sweet oak and vanilla with stone fruit. The palate is soft, with caramel, toasted oak and baked fruit. The finish is medium, with gentle spice and vanilla.
