This is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Maker's Mark, bottled at cask strength in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle, from batch 25-01. It is 7 years and 2 months old and comes dipped by hand in the brand's red wax.
The mash bill uses red winter wheat in place of rye, and the bourbon is bottled straight from the barrel without dilution at 56.3% ABV.
The nose is caramel, toasted oak, vanilla and dark chocolate, with baking spices and brown sugar. On the palate it is full-bodied, with salted caramel, toffee, cocoa and a soft wheat sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate, caramelised sugar and oak spice.
