This is a cask strength Kentucky straight bourbon from Maker's Mark, a wheated bourbon made with red winter wheat. It comes from a Private Select single barrel, bottled in August 2021 at 55.1% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The barrel was finished with a custom set of staves: three Baked American Pure, two Roasted French Mondiant, and one each of Seared French Cuvee, Maker's Mark 46 and Toasted French Spice.
The nose brings cinnamon, cardamom cookies, fresh sourdough and oatmeal raisin cookies. The palate moves from cinnamon roll filling to milk chocolate-covered raisins, fresh orange and a little pepper, ending sweet with maraschino cherries.
