Maker's Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 45%)

Maker's Mark is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at the Maker's Mark Distillery at Star Hill Farm in Loretto, Kentucky, and sold in a 75cl bottle at 45% (90 proof). Bill Samuels, Sr. wanted a whisky he would enjoy drinking. It is made with soft red winter wheat instead of the usual rye. Every barrel is rotated by hand, the bourbon is aged to taste rather than to a set time, and each bottle is dipped by hand in red wax. The nose has woody oak, caramel, vanilla and wheat. The palate is sweet and balanced, with caramel, vanilla and fruity notes, and the finish is smooth and subtle.
