Maker's Mark The Lost Recipe Edition 03 is a Kentucky straight bourbon given an extra finish with ten oak staves. It is bottled at 55.1% (110.2 proof) in a 70cl bottle for the 2026 release.
The staves come from the Private Selection archives of Maker's Mark. Nine are the retired Roasted French Mocha stave and one is a Seared French Cuvée stave, so the finish is built mainly around the mocha wood.
Baked apple and buttery pastry lead the nose. The palate brings dark chocolate, pastry sweetness and roasted mocha, and the finish turns to cocoa and a coffee-like bitterness after the initial sweetness.
