Manly Spirits Coastal Stone Elements Series Bourbon Cask (50cl, 46%)

Coastal Stone Bourbon Cask is an Australian single malt from Manly Spirits Co, part of its Elements Series. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 50cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill filtration. The whisky matured in first-fill bourbon casks of two sizes: 200-litre casks from Kentucky, and 100-litre casks made by re-coopering barrels at coopers in Tasmania and South Australia. Combining the two sizes gives a balance of oak, bourbon influence and the distillery's clean new make spirit. The nose is gentle vanilla, green fruit and toasted caramel. The palate is mellow and sweet, with warm honey, baked pear and apple over oak and leather. The finish is long and oily, with a touch of spice and lingering honey nut.
