Marca Negra San Martín Mezcal (75cl, 50%)

This is a mezcal artesanal from Oaxaca, made by Maestro Mezcalero Basilio Pacheco from wild-grown Agave Karwinskii harvested after 10 to 12 years of maturation. The agave is milled with a stone wheel (tahona) and distilled once in a plate system still. It is bottled at 50% abv. The nose is herbal and earthy, with roasted agave, dried herbs and light smoke. The palate is bold and structured, with mineral-rich soil, toasted nuts, citrus peel and subtle spice. The finish is long and dry, with lingering smoke, pepper and a slightly woody note.
