Marca Negra Sierra Negra Mezcal (70cl, 51%)

Marca Negra Sierra Negra is an artisanal mezcal from Oaxaca, made from wild Agave Americana var. Sierra Negra grown near San Luis del Río, Tlacolula. The agave is harvested after 12 to 15 years. The agave is milled with a stone wheel (tahona) and distilled twice in copper pot stills. It is made in small batches by maestro mezcalero Baltazar Cruz and bottled at 51% abv. The mezcal is clear and oily in texture. The nose brings lemon sherbet, agave syrup and orange peel. The palate is silky and layered, with hazelnuts, mild mesquite and roasted coffee beans. The finish is long, with citrus zest, gentle smoke and earthy sweetness.
