Marchesi di Barolo Coste di Rose 2019 Barolo

A single-vineyard Barolo DOCG from Marchesi di Barolo, made from Nebbiolo grown on the Coste di Rose hill in the eastern part of the commune of Barolo, facing Bussia di Monforte. The soils are rich in fossils and minerals. The wine matures for two years in a mix of large Slavonian oak casks and French oak barriques. The style is soft and elegant, with real personality. The colour is a luminous garnet. The nose is rich, with ripe wild berries, sour cherry, plum and dark cherry, then liquorice, resin, graphite and black pepper. The palate is warm, round and slightly savoury, built on an elegant, powerful tannic structure. It suits savoury, structured dishes such as wild boar stew.
