A single cask Japanese malt from the Komagatake distillery of Mars, drawn from one first-fill bourbon barrel and bottled at 61% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The cask, number 3571, gave 209 bottles, all produced exclusively for Taiwan as part of the Whisky Magazine Japanese Craft Whisky Collection.
The nose is sweet, with honey, malt sugar, maple syrup and vanilla, and peach behind. On the palate come light charred wood, toffee and honey, then orange jam and peaches, with a hint of peanuts at the back. The finish is nutty with spicy pepper.
