Mars Komagatake 2021 Edition is a Japanese single malt, distilled and aged entirely at the Mars Shinsu distillery in Nagano, below Mt. Komagatake. It is bottled at 48% abv.
The whisky was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry barrels, which is the signature style of Mars Shinsu.
The nose offers prunes, honey, vanilla and tropical fruits. On the palate come sweet oranges, green melon and cocoa powder, leading to a long, smooth finish of vanilla and persimmon.
