Mars Komagatake 2021 is a Japanese single malt from the Mars Shinshu distillery, in a 70cl bottle. The Komagatake edition is released once a year and takes its name from Mount Komagatake, at whose foot the distillery stands.
The 2021 edition was matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
The nose is fruity and floral, with apple, apricot, banana and vanilla. The palate is sweet, with honey, hazelnut, chocolate, caramel and melon, leading to a lightly smoky finish.
