Malt Duo is a collaboration between two Japanese whisky brands, and the first of its kind. Mars Komagatake single malt is combined with malts from the Chichibu distillery, then left to mature at the Mars Shinshu distillery, the highest whisky distillery in Japan. Chichibu is a craft distillery opened near Tokyo in 2008. This edition is lightly smoky and was released in 10,918 bottles. The nose brings maple syrup, plums and orange peel. The palate is sweet and smoky, with dark chocolate, caramel and nutmeg, and the finish is long and soft with black tea.
