Massenez Eau de Vie Poire Williams avec Poire

This is a pear eau de vie from Massenez, the Alsace distillery founded in 1870 by Jean-Baptiste Massenez and now in its fifth generation of family ownership. It is made from Williams pears, picked when ripe and golden. They ferment naturally for up to six weeks, then are distilled and aged in steel tanks. A pear grows inside each bottle, which is hung around the young fruit on the tree, then cut down, cleaned and filled. The aroma is fine and delicate, with pear.
