Massenez Eau de Vie Poire Williams (35cl)

Massenez Poire Williams is an Alsace eau de vie distilled from Williams pears. The fruit is picked when it is golden and fully ripe, then fermented naturally with its own yeasts for up to six weeks until the sugar has turned to alcohol. The spirit is then distilled and later rested in steel tanks. It takes about 14 kg of pears to make one bottle. Massenez was founded in 1870 by Jean-Baptiste Massenez and is still run by the family, now in its fifth generation. The aroma is fine and delicate, with clear pear. It fades a little over time, so the bottle is best finished within a reasonable time once opened. This is a 35cl bottle.
