Massenez Poire Prisonnière Pear Eau-de-Vie (75cl)

This is a Williams pear eau-de-vie from the Massenez distillery in France, in a 75cl bottle. It is clear and colourless, with the brilliance typical of fruit eaux-de-vie, and has a supple, fluid texture. The nose is clean and true to Williams pear, very fruity and long lasting. On the palate the rounded grain of the pear is clear, with an intense floral note that adds freshness. Fresh fruit comes first, followed by ripe fruit and marmalade or jam. The finish is spicy, with a hint of liquorice.
