Matsui Sakura Cask Single Malt Japanese Whisky (70cl, 48%)

Matsui Sakura Cask is a Japanese single malt distilled at the Kurayoshi Distillery in Tottori and bottled at 48% ABV in a 700ml bottle. It has no age statement. Maturation begins in ex-bourbon barrels. The whisky is then finished in hybrid casks whose heads are replaced with sakura, or Japanese cherry wood, and it is reduced with natural spring water from Mount Daisen. The nose is typically described as cherry blossom and white flowers with toasted almond and juicy orange. The palate is rich, with baking spice, citrus and malt honey, and the finish is long, floral and lightly spiced.
