Matsui The Kurayoshi 8 Year Old is a Japanese blended malt made entirely from malted barley. Scotch malt whiskies are married with malt distilled at Kurayoshi in Tottori, and the blend is proofed with Mount Daisen spring water.
It spends a minimum of 8 years in ex-bourbon white oak barrels. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and without caramel colouring.
The tasting notes describe ripe, sweet fruit on the nose, then candied nuts, raisin and vanilla on a very soft palate. The finish is medium to long, with toffee and light oak.
