Matsui The San-In Bourbon Barrel Blended Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Matsui The San-In is a blended Japanese whisky bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It combines single malt distilled at Kurayoshi in Tottori with single grain whisky from a Japanese distillery that is not named. The blend is matured in white oak ex-bourbon barrels and reduced with groundwater from Mount Daisen. Its name refers to San'in, the Sea of Japan side of western Honshu where Tottori lies. The nose brings maple syrup, vanilla and sweet confectionery. The palate has toasted biscuit, pear, orange zest and lemongrass, with green-tea bitterness, ginger and thyme. The finish is medium, of vanilla and sweet florals.
