Matsui Tottori Blended Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Matsui Tottori is a blended Japanese whisky from Kurayoshi Distillery, named after the prefecture that has been the company's home since 1910. It combines double-copper-pot-distilled malt whisky with grain whiskies from undisclosed Japanese distilleries. The blend is aged in ex-bourbon barrels, reduced with Mount Daisen spring water and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration. The distillery recommends serving it as a highball. The nose has malted-grain sweetness, red apple, cacao and vanilla with a floral lift. The palate is fruity, with cherry, strawberry jam, creamy toffee and black pepper. The finish brings peach stone, pineapple and lingering pepper and oak.
