Newry 1817 is a blended Irish whiskey from Matt D'Arcy, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in ex-Bourbon casks. The blend pays tribute to Matt D'Arcy and to the long history of blending Irish whiskey in the town of Newry. On the palate it is typically described as wood and vanilla from the former Bourbon casks, opening into an almost floral sweetness. The finish brings heather, honey and a delicate sweetness, said to recall a walk in the Mourne Mountains on an early spring evening.
