Mayor Pingree Red Label Bourbon (75cl, 47%)

Mayor Pingree Red Label is a high-rye blended bourbon from Valentine Distilling Co. in Ferndale, Michigan, released in batches at 47% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It combines triple pot-distilled bourbon made at the distillery with column-distilled bourbon from Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The rye content runs from 27% to 37%. The staves are air-dried for 24 months, and the barrels are made with two different char levels. The nose offers dark cherries, buttered popcorn, charred orange peel and honeycomb. The palate has butterscotch, apricot and baking spices, with anise, clove and allspice. The finish is medium-long, with maple sugar, pineapple juice and toasted oak.
