Mazzei Fonterutoli Chianti Classico 2021 (75cl)

Mazzei Fonterutoli Chianti Classico is a Tuscan red from the 2021 vintage. It is mainly Sangiovese, blended with 10% Malvasia Nera and Colorino, and 290,000 bottles were made. The year began with minimal winter precipitation, giving a smaller than average harvest. Spring rainfall was adequate, and a long, hot summer with good swings between day and night temperatures produced thick-skinned grapes with well-ripened phenols. The result is a rich wine with firm structure balanced by freshness. Ripe black cherry and orange peel lead on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied, with velvety tannins, berry fruit and hints of chocolate and spice, ending fresh.
