McCarthy's 3 Year Old is an American single malt from Clear Creek Distillery in Hood River, Oregon, bottled at 42.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was first released in 1996.
It is made from 100% peat-malted Scottish barley, distilled once in Holstein pot stills in the style of an Islay malt, and aged for a minimum of three years in air-dried Oregon oak casks. It is non-chill-filtered.
The nose is robust and smoky. On the palate come dried fruit, plum and delicate peat, and the finish is warm, with honey and lingering smoke.
