McCarthy's 6 Year Old Oregon Single Malt (75cl, 50%)

McCarthy's 6 Year Old is an American single malt from Clear Creek Distillery in Hood River, Oregon, bottled at 50% ABV. Steve McCarthy released the first 3 year old in 1996, and this six-year-old is the flagship of the range. It is made from 100% peat-malted Scottish barley, single-pass distilled in 60-gallon Holstein pot stills and left non-chill filtered. The whisky is aged in Oregon oak casks, air-dried for 36 months, and is modelled on Islay single malts. The tasting notes give peat smoke, a campfire and subtle sweetness on the nose. The palate balances peat and oak with honeyed sweetness, and the finish is long, smoky and warming.
