Meikle Tòir The Sherry is a five-year-old peated single malt from Speyside, matured in casks that held sherry. It takes a modern approach to a region usually known for a softer style, adding peat to the mix.
The sherry casks bring dried fruit, raisin, caramel and spice, and their roundness balances the peat.
The nose offers smoke, dried fruit and a lightly sweet note, with spice and wood behind. The palate is smoky and rich, with dried fruit, caramel and spice in an ample, slightly oily texture. The finish is long and warming, smoky, spiced and lightly sweet.
