Meikle Toir The Sherry One is a peated Speyside single malt from The GlenAllachie, bottled at 48% ABV. The spirit is peated to 35 ppm with mainland peat from St. Fergus and fermented for 160 hours. It matures first in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, then is finished in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry puncheons. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose combines cedarwood, cigar box, butterscotch and mocha with orange peel, honey and plum jam, over soft peat smoke. The palate is rich, with dark chocolate, smoked honey, figs, treacle and heathery smoke. The finish is long, with burnt caramel, star anise and dried fruit.
