Mellow Corn is a Kentucky straight corn whiskey in a 75cl bottle, bottled in bond at 50% ABV. Heaven Hill distils it from a mash of 80% corn, 8% rye and 12% malted barley.
It is aged for four years in once-used bourbon barrels, which leave it a lighter straw colour than bourbon. As a bottled-in-bond whiskey it comes from one distillery and one distilling season, and it is cut with water only.
The nose is oak and delicate spice. The palate is full-bodied and textured, with a softly spiced sweetness, and the finish is sweet and chewy.
