This is a straight rye whiskey from Michter's in Kentucky, aged for ten years and bottled from single barrels at 46.4% ABV. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
Because each bottle is filled from one barrel, it is not a blend of casks.
The nose combines deep vanilla, buttery toffee, toasted almonds and cinnamon, with a gentle pepper note and bright orange citrus. The palate is silky, opening with pound cake, molasses and crème brûlée before black cherry, orange peel, honey, clove and baking spice, with a little oak tannin. The finish is medium to long, with rye spice, mint and a hint of dusty oak.
