Bomberger's Declaration is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Michter's, bottled at 108 proof (54% ABV). This bottle is the 2022 release.
It is matured in special barrels, some of them made from Chinquapin oak that was air dried naturally for over three years. The name honours the former Bomberger's distillery of the 1800s, which later became known as Michter's in the twentieth century.
The nose brings caramel, wet oak, sweet honey and citrus zest. The palate is spicy, with lightly charred oak, citrus and caramel sweetness, followed by a smooth finish.
