Michter's Toasted Barrel Finish is a Kentucky straight bourbon first released in autumn 2014, here bottled at 45.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is part of the Limited Release series and has no added colour and no chill-filtration.
After its regular maturation, the bourbon goes into a second, custom-made barrel built from wood that was air-dried for 18 months. The barrel is toasted rather than charred.
Tasting notes describe sweet vanilla and caramel, subtle spice and a woody note, with a fine texture and a harmonious finish.
