Michter's – Shenk's Homestead Release 2023 Small Batch (70cl, 45.6%)

A small-batch Kentucky sour mash whiskey from Michter's, released as the Shenk's Homestead 2023 edition. It was bottled in 2023 at 45.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with an outturn of 2,920 bottles. The release pays tribute to John Shenk, who founded a distillery in 1753 that became known as Michter's in the 20th century. It is made by the sour mash method, in which a portion of the previously distilled mash, known as setback, goes into the next batch. It has no added colour and is not chill-filtered.
