Michter's Shenk's Homestead Release 2025 Small Batch (70cl, 45.6%)

Shenk's Homestead is a small batch sour mash whiskey from Michter's in Kentucky, bottled in 2025 at 45.6% in a 70cl bottle. The release honours John Shenk, an eighteenth-century pioneer of distilling. It follows the sour mash method, in which part of an earlier distillation, known as the setback, goes into the next mash. The recipe has a significant share of rye. Maturation took place in French oak casks from the Vosges region, air-dried for 24 months and then toasted to a set specification. The release comprises 2371 bottles and is non-chill-filtered, with no added colouring.
