Michter's Single Barrel Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey in a 70cl bottle, from the 2021 release. Each bottle is filled from one fire-charred, new American white oak barrel. The rye grain is sheared to draw more flavour from it, and the whiskey is described as having notes of citrus, butterscotch and oak.
On the nose there is menthol, dark chocolate and spicy rye bread dough, with charred oak and aromatic spices. The palate adds more mint and chocolate alongside peppery spice and toasted spices, and the finish recalls After Eight mints, spicy oak and charred citrus.
