Michter's Single Barrel Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey, bottled at 42.4% ABV (84.8 proof). Every bottle is drawn from a single barrel.
It is distilled from a 100% rye mash in batches, then aged in fire-charred new American white oak barrels.
The nose is spice and black pepper with citrus zest, vanilla and butterscotch. The palate has brown sugar, minty vanilla, caramel and baked rye bread, with an oily, creamy texture. The finish is balanced, with lingering pepper, oak spice, cinnamon and a touch of honey.
