Michter's – Small Batch Sour Mash

A sour mash whiskey from Michter's, made by fermenting a new mash with some previously fermented mash as the starter, much like sourdough bread. Michter's Original Sour Mash was the distillery's most popular product during the 1970s and 1980s. Its grain selection means it cannot be classed as either a rye or a bourbon. It disappeared from the market in 1989 and returned in 2012 as part of the US 1 line, keeping to the profile of the earlier whiskey.
