Michter's US*1 American Whiskey (75cl, 41.7%)

Michter's US*1 American Whiskey is a small-batch whiskey bottled at 41.7% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is the outlier of the Michter's range, matured in previously used whiskey barrels rather than new charred oak, so it is labelled American whiskey and not bourbon. The second-fill wood gives a gentler, more rounded oak influence and leaves the sweetness of the grain more to the fore. The nose offers butterscotch, vanilla, light oak and dried cherry. The palate is smooth and rounded, with caramel, honey, cinnamon and soft grain sweetness, and the finish is mellow, with vanilla and mild spice.
