Michter's US★1 Sour Mash is a small-batch American whiskey from Kentucky, bottled at 43% ABV. It is aged in charred new American oak barrels.
It is not labelled as bourbon or rye, because no single grain in the mash makes up more than 51%.
The nose offers butterscotch, caramel and vanilla with touches of cherry and baking spice. On the palate it is silky and malty, with cherry, caramel corn, coffee cake and cinnamon bun. The finish is medium to long and warm, with mild pepper, oak spice and a hint of fruit.
