Michter's – US1 American Whiskey (70cl, 41.7%)

Michter's US1 is an American whiskey in a 70cl bottle at 41.7% ABV. Unlike bourbon and rye, which must be aged in new oak, it is matured in barrels that have previously held whiskey. It never contains neutral grain spirit, which is what the word unblended refers to. Batches are small, with rarely more than 20 casks used at a time. The distillery brought this whiskey back at the end of 2013, after almost three years away from the market. Caramel, corn and vanilla give it the character of a classic bourbon, while a soft apricot note tempers the sweetness.
