Michter's US1 Toasted Barrel Finish Sour Mash is a limited-edition American whiskey, released in 2025 and made in small batches.
It starts as Michter's US1 Sour Mash Whiskey from the distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, then moves into new oak barrels that have been toasted rather than charred. It is bottled at 86 proof (43%).
The nose brings caramelised sugar, honey, vanilla bean and toasted oak. On the palate come butterscotch, cinnamon, roasted almond and charred marshmallow, leading to a long, warm, gently smoky finish with lingering sweetness.
