Micil Madeira Island Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey (46%)

An Irish single pot still whiskey bottled at 46% ABV, given a double finish. Around two thirds of it spent eleven months in Madeira wine casks, and the rest rested in peated quarter casks that previously held peated spirit. The dark fruit of the wine finish sits under the usual pot still character, with a subtle, dry smokiness alongside. The nose has citrus, a little smoke, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon. The palate brings candied oranges, milk chocolate, grapefruit, apricot, pot still spice and some smoke. The finish is long, with fruit and spice.
