Sauternes
A peated single malt from Miclo in Alsace, matured in Sauternes casks. The peating is given as around 30 ppm. It takes its name from the Pays Welche, the area around the village of Lapoutroie on the foothills of the Vosges. Smoke leads the nose, with buttered caramel and honey alongside. The palate opens silky, and the character of the peat sits with rich caramelised and malty notes.
