Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy is a single pot still Irish whiskey from County Cork, bottled at 46% and non-chill filtered, in a 750ml bottle. It is named after Barry Crockett, who was Master Distiller at Midleton from 1966 until 2013.
It is triple-distilled in copper pot stills from malted and unmalted barley. Most of it matures in American bourbon barrels, with a small share of pot still distillate aged in unseasoned American oak casks.
The nose combines vanilla and toasted oak with lime zest, green berries and ripe pear. On the palate come apple, pear and butterscotch, then gentle pepper, lime and mandarin, with cinnamon behind. The finish is long, with banana and clean American oak.
