Midleton Red Spot is a 15 year old single pot still Irish whiskey from the Mitchell & Son series, bottled at 46% ABV on 14 October 2021 as Batch 3. It matured in a combination of American bourbon casks, Spanish sherry butts and Sicilian Marsala wine casks, and is not chill-filtered. The name comes from the Mitchell family's habit of marking casks of different ages with a spot of colour. The nose offers pot still spice with cooked fruit, baked apple, mango and black cherry, with hazelnut and a little new leather alongside toasted American oak. On the palate, ripe fruit sweetness from the Marsala-seasoned casks meets sweet red pepper and cracked black pepper. The finish is very long, with fruit and spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
